London IA History

This London IA Ning Group sprang from a meeting in 2007 which was organised via the existing London IA yahoo group.

At this meeting Ken Beatson agreed to set up this Ning Group to 'continue the conversation' about IA, UX and everything to do with interface design.

Ken and others then went on to organise a number of both formal and informal meetings and events.

When Ken went back to New Zealand, Matthew Solle and Martin Belam continued to run a number of 'London IA' branded events which were sponsored by Zebra People and ran for a number of years.

With the growth of Twitter, discussion on LondonIA fell and the London IA Community website refocused on being the main UX events listing for London and to act as a 'Mini Linkedin' for the UX industry.

Currently about 80% of the members of London IA are based in London; 10% from other parts of the UK and 10% from around the world.
